Bio: Although coveted amongst her parents as a perfect child, Nicky has never been acknowledged amongst her peers. Socially unaware and not too bright, she has created a niche for herself amongst the likes of Summer Smith and Jennifer Cunningham, her two best friends. Unpopular and all too aware, Nicky works hard to rid herself from social disgrace. Yet her efforts seem in vain as any actions cause her further ridicule. She is forced to sit back and watch as an uncaring and “undeserving” Summer finds the chance she has always dreamed of within a boy, let alone Henry Campbell. Trying to be a supportive friend, Nicky has ignored her digressions, instead taking up interests in knitting, celebrity magazines, and dinners at Jennifer’s house.

Bio: Nikolai is irrelevant when concerning social status. Born to the school board director and an etymologist, his childhood was left bereft of friendship. At the age of nine, his mother killed herself. Shortly after, his father remarried to a wedding planner, and consequentially adopted her twenty year old daughter. A very tentative family,  NIkolai barely speaks to his new mother and sister due to the language barrier. His slim and lanky stature only further his awkwardness. However, his antics portray a friendly and colloquial manner. Sweet and mild-mannered, Nikolai is quick to please. Years of growing up with elitist but well-meaning parents have softened him considerably. Besides his sweet temperament however, Nikolai is an average student. Not talented with sports, he is fascinated by comic books, mythology and school band, where he plays his oboe. His other interest lies within affections of one Leanne White.

Bio: The cousin to both Elenore and Steven, Jeremy is the paragon of perfection. A natural capacity for all of his endeavors combined with false charm and determination allow esteemed accomplishment to follow his every move. His conniving and intelligent manners only serve to further his political aspirations. Born to Marthe and Bernard Carr, Jeremy has devoted his time towards creating the ideal self-image. An exceptionally cynical outlook strengthens his thirst reputation and wealth. This ambitious persona allows for easy annoyance with those less competent than he. Therefore, Jeremy enjoys the company of Dean Buchanan. Although he lacks the same designs, Dean is uniquely suited to deal with Jeremy’s drives. In spare time Jeremy prefers racquetball, classical jazz, and learning new languages.

Bio: Dean was a nonexistent entity before meeting Jeremy. Moving into the neighborhood at the tender age of four, he lacked both substance and drive. His parents, Enid and Dean Sr, were attentive but altogether ordinary themselves. Dean managed to escape his own bourgeois mediocrity in becoming friends with his scheming neighbor, solidifying life as a right hand man. They remained inseparable until the start of school; a tragedy in which Jeremy started a year ahead. It was there that he met Ruth. Patient and naturally compliant, he was instinctually drawn to her bossy and abrasive behavior. Because of his unrelenting friendship, both Ruth and Jeremy aid Dean in his coursework. Not intellectually inclined, Dean enjoys racquetball, hot rods, and holidays.

Bio: Steven is the twin brother to Elenore. Although not biologically related, he was adopted into the Swanson family at a young age. He and Elenore have a close relationship, and although they are not friends, they each entertain a sibling ideal perfected by the other. This capability towards close relations is pursued in all of Steven’s relations and he is often viewed to be very courteous and amicable. However, such feelings are often unrequited by Steven as he is a bit of a misogynist by nature. With no concrete reasons, such beliefs remain hidden behind a general distance between himself and his peers. These aloof tactics, although beneficial, do not always behoove him as there are those girls who see him to be a challenge. Steven enjoys the guitar, his work, and writing.

Overachieving in all aspects of life, Elenore is the ideal student, daughter, and citizen. Taking only highly advanced classes, she is unknown to most of her peers. With her free time, she plays the clarinet, piano, participates in the newspaper and yearbook, and practices ballet daily. Due to her predilection for hard work and lack of spare time, Elenore’s only friend is Leanne White. When she isn’t busy, Elenore enjoys volunteering, painting landscapes, and competitive horse backing.

With such a lifestyle, Ruth has gained a an overachieving status among her classmates. Anal to the point of annoyance, Ruth’s first and only friend as a child was Dean Buchanan. But with the company of both Dean and Jeremy, she has learned to tone down such tendencies. Not enough for Zoe however, who is unable to grasp the simultaneous rivalry and friendship she shares with Ruth. The feelings of competition however, are not mutual. However, she is confident and not afraid to be herself and make gossip. Having experienced childhood as a companion to Grace and her friends, Jenny finds herself balancing the somewhat tedious line of popularity. Lightly ridiculed by her peers, she attracts unfavorable attention due to her monopolizing and overbearing personality. Yet with garish clothing and loud squeals, Jenny holds her head high in the halls. Being the only one amongst her peers to have never held the attraction of another, she can do nothing but improve her own pursuits. Jenny is interested in cheer squad, drama club, and the business of others.
